Target Think Friday: Chapter 13

Welcome to our first and only Target Think Friday.  Today is a special occasion,  it’s the day we examine Chapter 13 of Think and Grow Rich.  I guess I could have said Happy Friday the thirteenth chapter but it sounded a little cheesy.

I must admit that this was not the easiest of chapters to delve into and I found myself re-reading sections to ensure I grasped what Mr. Hill was attempting to teach me. If this reading were a class requirement in which a test was given at the end of the chapter, I would hope for an open book exam.  So while this chapter was somewhat challenging for me to follow, I was able to extract a gem as my favorite quote:

…all of us are controlled by forces which are unseen and intangible..

This quote reminds me that there are other things in play in our lives outside of what we do within our lives each day.  It reminds me that other people are important and that they have an impact no only on what I do but how I do it. This week I am going to allow myself to be controlled and change up the types of questions I post.

Questions for Contemplation will be posted today instead of questions for reflection.  This is due to the tone of the chapter leaning more towards contemplation of an idea than actual steps toward a specific goal.  So without further delay, here are the questions for contemplation.

1.  Can you recall a time when listening to a song or watching a video has led to the inspiration to do something?  Did you give in to that desire or brush it off as useless? Knowing what you do of this chapter, would you change that behavior today?

2.  Is your imagination providing you with moments of inspiration?  Are you acting on that inspiration or are you sitting back trying to talk yourself out of it?

3.  What is the medium by which you may put into action your brain?  What three things can turn your brain into a broadcasting station?

4.  What does the intangible force that is wrapped up in the soil of the earth provide you with each day?

5.  The Master Mind Meeting can also be known as Strategy Meetings or Strategic Planning. Do you practice any of these techniques in your personal life? If not, what is stopping you.

Application Step:  If this chapter means nothing to you at this time, mark the page and read it again after you have finished the entire book.

Target Think Thursday: Chapter 12

Happy Week Before Thanksgiving!  Just think, this time next week most of us will experience great food and family as we celebrate a holiday of giving Thanks.  This week will have 2 posts from our reading of Think and Grow Rich.  Today will include questions from Chapter 12 and tomorrow will include Chapter 13.  After this week, we will not only be caught up but will be one step closer to completion.

Chapter 12: The Subconscious Mind is indicated as the Eleventh Step Towards Riches.  It is a step and Chapter of the power of our thoughts.  It reminds us to keep our minds focused on our ultimate objective, the desire to achieve the goal which we identified at the beginning of this journey together.  For the first time, I am sharing my desire – Complete my 1st book.  That’s what I am working on when I have a few moments to spare and no one around me.  It is a slower process than I once imagined but I am concentrating on ensuring I write everyday and by sticking to that practice, I find I am making progress.  How about you, are you making progress with your plan to THINK AND GROW RICH?

Here are my favorite quotes of Chapter 12:
“Man can create nothing which he does not first conceive in THOUGHT” – Napoleon Hill

“Positive and negative emotions cannot occupy the mind at the same time” – Napoleon Hill

Questions for Reflection:
1.  The subconscious mind is like what office furniture?  Are you filing away thoughts and impressions which will lead you closer to your goal?

2.  You cannot entirely control your subconscious mind, but you can do what?

3.  What is the benefit to making your desires clear?  Have you reduced your desires to writing?  If so, where are you storing these so that you may review them each day?

4.  Which of the thirteen principles are helping you to acquire the ability to reach your subconsicious mind?  What will it take for you to direct your subconscious mind?  Are you putting that plan into habit?

5.  According to Mr. Hill, what happens to subconscious mind when you fail to plant desires?  Examine your life over the last 12 months, has this been true or false for you?  Are you happy with the outcome? Do you need to make any changes in order to change the outcome?

6.  What  thoughts are consistently within your mind?  Are you ruled by your emotions?  How has this impacted your life?

7.  This book is intended to help you do what?  Is it working for you?  Are you working for your desire?

8.  Communication costs nothing except ____, _____, _____, ____, and a ____ ____ to communicate.

Til tomorrow,

Target Think Thursday: Chapter 11

There comes a time in our lives when we have to take what we call in my

,  a mental health day.  A day where you acknowledge to yourself that you just don’t feel like doing anything and all you want to do is nothing.   That reminds me of the Bruno Mars song, The Lazy Song.  Today I don’t feel like doing anything,  I just want to lay in my bed. Don’t feel like….

What does any of this mean you may ask? That’s what happened to me last week – I just didn’t feel like doing anything and I gave in to that impulse.   So this week, I find myself needing to get back on schedule.   Thus this week’s post includes questions from Chapter 11 and  questions from Chapter 12 will be posted prior to our next Target Think Thursday.  Which means there are only 3 chapters left. Seems like we just began this journey earlier this month.

Well, it has been enough delay already so here are your questions for reflection:

1.  What does Mr. Hill indicate as the only dependable means of accumulating wealth?

2.  What is sex transmutation?   Have you ever been driven by this desire? What were the results?

3.  How can you lift yourself to the status of genius?  Do you possess either of the 2 facts/traits associated with sex transmutation?  Do you want to?

4.  What happens when people are driven by the emotion of sex? Which of the ten mind stimuli  do you respond to?
5.  To become great one must acquire the habit of?  What will it take for you to acquire this skill?

6.  What type of inventor are you?  What process must you follow in order to begin your inventions?  If you aren’t getting thw results you desire, is it time to change your process?

7.  What is a mind stimulant and which of the 10 most common influence you?

8.  What happens to people who lack sex energy?  Based on your personal experience, do you agree or disagree?

9.  At what age does the average person reach the period of their greatest capacity? What is your age?  Are you on track to your greatest capacity?

10.  Genuine information comes through genuine love. Can you think of a time in which you were motivated by love?
