Workdays don’t seem to hold the same level of frustration as they did when I had to fight through school car pool lanes and traffic on the interstate. There have been a few times when I have missed the hectic life of carpool and soccer practice when I hear the words “MOM” screamed at the top of someone’s lungs. Then there are times in which it seems there isn’t enough time in the day to meet the deadlines that are glaring at me from my planner or alerting from my calendar reminders.
This year has been a year of firsts that we will look back on with nostalgia one day. But until that day arrives, it’s a great time to focus on something new. Maybe you are forced to look for a new job due to a layoff, reduced hours or furlough. It could be that you dislike your job and think this is the ideal time to try something new. Regardless of your circumstances, it is the time to pivot and try something out of your ordinary.
