Wednesday Wisdom: 7 Quotes on Perseverance

Please share!

Happy Wednesday!

Perseverance is one of my key traits that I encourage others to always attempt to demonstrate.  Other terms which have been used to refer to the same quality are tenacity & doggedness.  No matter what you call it, these are a few of the essential characteristics that I look for when identifying people to hire and/or mentor.  If you personify perseverance as Dictionary.com defines it, then you are someone that can achieve any task assigned.

As you approach this Wednesday’s massive to do list, here are seven quotes to keep you inspired and keep you focused on demonstrating perseverance no matter the challenges you may face:

  1.  “It is never too late to be what  you might have been” – George Eliot

2.  “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up” – Thomas Edison

3.  “A failure is not always a mistake. It may simply be the best one can do under the circumstances.  The real mistake is to stop trying.” – B. F. Skinner

4.  “It always seems impossible until its done” – Nelson Mandela

5. “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts” – Winston Churchill

6.  “Champions keep playing until they get it right” – Billie Jean King

7.  “Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th” – Julie Andrews

Til next time,

“Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish” – John Quincy Adams
